BT Strike could cause a “significant impact” on support

You may have seen in the news that more than 30,000 employees at BT including engineers and call centre staff voted overwhelmingly in favour of taking industrial action in a row over pay.

The two 24-hour strikes will take place on 29 July and 1 August. BT said it had made its best pay offer and would not be re-opening the 2022 pay review.

What will that mean for you?

This industrial action will be the first across BT for 35 years, and since the privatisation of the firm and could cause a “significant impact” on installations and support throughout the industrial action.

Openreach stated “We’ll do everything we can to minimise any disruption whilst the industrial action is taking place and to keep you connected. We have tried and tested processes to help deal with the impacts of reductions in our available workforce, as we proved during the pandemic. “
